Bus routes between SZ BayCheckpoint and HK open

TWO special bus lines and one small bus line from Hong Kong to Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint have started operating, www.sznews.com reported Monday.

    Shenzhen residents can take the buses to Yuen Long, Tuen Mun Pier and Tin Shui Wai in Hong Kong.

    Buses on Line B2 and Small Bus 618 operate at intervals of 15 minutes while buses on Line B3 at intervals of 15 to 20 minutes, the report said. The fares for the entire journeys of the two shuttle buses are HK$11 (US$1.41) and the fare for the entire journey of the small bus costs HK$9.50.

    Buses on Line B2 run from Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint to Yuen Long West Rail Station through Tin Shui Wai West Rail Station. The service at Yuen Long West Rail Station runs from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., while the service at Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint runs from 6:45 a.m. to 12:20 a.m.

    Buses on Line B3 run from Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint to Tuen Mun Pier through the center of Tuen Mun. The service at Tuen Mun Pier runs from 6 a.m. to 10:10 p.m., whereas the service at Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint runs from 7 a.m. to 12:20 a.m.

    Buses No. 618 running from the checkpoint to Tin Shui Wai operate from 6:45 a.m. to 12:20 a.m. while buses No. 618 running from Tin Shui Wai to the checkpoint operate from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m..

    The Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint, which opened in July last year, is the first in China where traffic crossing the border between the mainland and Hong Kong is processed at a single point. Travelers can cross the checkpoint by coaches, franchised buses, minibuses or taxis. (Wang Yuanyuan)
