Top German designs coming to town

Wang Yuanyuan

A TOTAL of 56 exhibitors with nearly 600 of the latest designs from China and Germany will exhibit their works at the first China/Germany Brand and Design Exhibition from May 15 to 18.

The exhibition will be staged at the City of Design Creative Industrial Park in Futian District, a subvenue of the China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industry Fair (ICIF).

Twenty German exhibitors will display more than 100 designs and creative works. All the exhibits were winners of the 2007 and 2008 German Design Award. Two US$4 million Porsche cars, which represent the highest level of German vehicle design, will also be displayed in Shenzhen for the first time.

The organizing committee has invited Berlin Mayor Harald Wolf and 28 well-known designers and entrepreneurs from 10 countries to attend three forums on the sidelines of the exhibition.

During the forums, the Shenzhen and Berlin city governments will also discuss future cooperation in the creative and design industries and the possibility of setting up an overseas exhibition hall for the ICIF in Berlin next year.
