BUSES on 140 routes will detour to make way for the 41.6-kilometer Olympic torch relay in Shenzhen tomorrow, the city’s traffic bureau said.

The buses will avoid using roads that will be closed temporarily when torchbearers pass.

The routes would be back to normal in half an hour to five hours, the bureau said.

The relay will start at 8:15 a.m. at the Citizens’ Center in Futian and end at 7 p.m. with a one-hour party at the Shenzhen Stadium.

The public are advised to brief themselves on detailed plans of the bus route adjustment before taking buses to work on the day. More information is available on the bureau Web site www.sztb.gov.cn.

Drivers are advised to avoid using the Shennan Thoroughfare in the morning, and Binhe Road and Binhai Thoroughfare in the afternoon.

The weather forecast yesterday said it would be a fine day tomorrow, with the maximum temperature around 30 degrees Celsius.
