Dr. Chaos and Damien Noir, Canadian hypnotists, will take the stage at the Shenzhen Grand Theater on Saturday for their first live show in Shenzhen.

    Dr. Chaos is the stage name of master hypnotist Glenn Alexander, a graduate of the Canadian Institute of Ethical Hypnosis. His partner Devin Michael Giles, stage name Damien Noir, is a certified practitioner of hypnosis.

    Hypnosis is a state resembling a deep sleep in which a person may be influenced by the hypnotist. Actions are performed based on the suggestions of the hypnotist.

    In Shenzhen, the team will depict the funny side of hypnosis to ordinary people. “The person under my hypnosis will find his or her nose becoming longer. When I tell him ‘I’m pulling your nose to the left,’ he will turn his head to the left,” said Alexander.

    In one of his settings, he will tell people they are in a burning house and their shoes are the oxygen mask. Then he will ask them to take off their shoes and put them on their faces.
