Members of the public sign their names on a banner to support green means of transportation yesterday, the day the annual Green Public Transport Promotion Month was launched. Jointly sponsored by the municipal environmental protection bureau and transport bureau, the event has received the support of 31 bus routes. Authorities have called on bus drivers to drive in ways that reduce fuel consumption and appealed to the public to resort to green transport means such as taking buses, riding bicycles and walking.
