Ask the average citizen in America if they have heard of Shenzhen and the likely answer is "no." Ask any professional skateboarder in America, and the answer is almost certainly "yes." Believe it or not, along with Barcelona in Spain, Shenzhen is one of the most famous cities in the world for skateboarding, due to its rapid development which provides the perfect playground for the sport.
A seven-member team of professional skateboarders from America, sponsored by the renowned skate company Enjoi, toured Shenzhen this week. They sampled the city's best skate spots, many of which are in Bao'an District, while shooting for magazines and filming for videos. Many of the team members have been to China on skate trips before and when asked what they thought of skating in Shenzhen, the answer was unanimous -- "amazing."
